Starting a business

Choosing between a sole trader and an LLP, registration, the first internal documents and a tax regime suited to your revenue.

Contracts with clients

One workable contract instead of ten downloaded ones: payment, deadlines, liability and the refund procedure.

Suppliers and contractors

Reviewing the other side's draft, a protocol of disagreements, acceptance terms and penalties that work both ways.

Employees

Employment contracts, orders, instructions and the dismissal procedure — so that a complaint from a former employee does not cost the business a fine.

Inspections and orders

What to show, what not to, how to respond in writing and how to appeal an act if the inspection did not go your way.

Claims and debts

The client didn't pay, the supplier didn't deliver. We prepare a demand and take the case through to the money, not just to correspondence.

Day-to-day questions

Short questions that need an answer today: can I write it this way, what are the risks, what should I sign.

Change of form and scale

Moving from a sole trader to an LLP, bringing in a partner, opening a branch in another city, selling the business.

Ongoing legal support for a business is needed when questions come up more often than once a month

The first consultation is free. If it's a one-off task, we'll say so: there's no point paying for ongoing support just for one contract.

  • Sole traders and self-employed individuals
  • Small LLPs without an in-house lawyer
  • Those just starting a business

Cost

How it works legal services for business

Talking through the case

What you sell, to whom, and how you get paid. Without this, any advice will be generic and useless.

Reviewing documents

We look at contracts, HR papers and correspondence with counterparties. This is usually where everything interesting turns up.

List of risks

A short list: what's on fire, what can wait, what isn't a problem at all. No scare tactics and no thirty-point list.

Choosing the format

A one-off task, a few documents or a monthly package. We work out together which is cheaper in your case.

Fixed-fee agreement

The scope and the price are put in writing before we start. No extra invoices appearing mid-month.

Getting things in order

We bring into working shape what you use every day: the contract with your client, HR documents, the payment procedure.

Ongoing work

Questions come in via messenger, answers on standard ones within two working days. Urgent matters we deal with straight away.

Quarterly review

We look at what has changed in the business and adjust the documents to the new scale while it is still cheap to do so.

Not sure whether you need a lawyer on an ongoing basis?

Send us the contract you use with your clients — we will tell you what to fix in it and whether a one-off job is enough.

Coffee shop

The lease ate half the profit in the first year

Situation
The coffee shop owner signed the lease on the landlord's terms: the rate was indexed every six months, and early termination meant losing a three-month deposit. A year later the rate had gone up by a third, the shop stopped breaking even, and there was no way to leave without losses.
What we did
We went through the contract and found that the indexation was tied to an indicator the landlord had never documented, and that some of the increases had been applied without written notice. We sent a demand for recalculation and at the same time prepared the terms for negotiating a new rate.
Outcome
Some of the increases were cancelled, the rate was fixed for two years and automatic indexation was removed. The deposit was preserved, and the shop returned to profit the following quarter.
Workshop

The client demanded money back for work he had approved himself

Situation
A joinery workshop made furniture to a sketch, the client accepted it, and two months later demanded a full refund, saying the colour was wrong. The contract was one page long, it said nothing about how acceptance worked, and the sketch had been agreed over messages.
What we did
We collected the correspondence confirming approval of the design and colour, photographs of the finished item at handover, and confirmation of receipt. We prepared a written response to the claim, addressing each argument and proposing an inspection with an independent specialist.
Outcome
The client withdrew the claim after our response. For the workshop, we drafted a proper contract with acceptance procedures and a procedure for approving the design — over the following year there was not a single similar claim.
Retail shop

A former salesperson's complaint triggered an inspection

Situation
The owner of a small shop hired salespeople "by arrangement", without employment contracts. A dismissed employee filed a complaint, an inspection followed, and fines were threatened on several grounds at once, not just in relation to that employee.
What we did
We formalised the existing employees in accordance with the law before the inspection ended, prepared written explanations on each point of the complaint, and handled communication with the inspector. We filed objections to the inspection report, attaching documents that had not been requested during the inspection.
Outcome
Some of the points were dropped on objections, and the fine remained minimal. HR documents are now maintained from the moment of hiring — a repeat inspection a year later passed without any findings.
Beauty salon

Staff were leaving and taking the client base and appointment records with them

Situation
The salon owner found that staff, after working for a few months, would leave for neighbouring studios and take clients with them: contact details were kept in personal phones, and there were no agreements regarding the client base. Within six months the salon lost roughly a third of its regular clients.
What we did
We moved appointments and contacts into a system owned by the salon rather than by the staff. We concluded contracts with employees containing confidentiality conditions regarding client information and a procedure for handover on dismissal. We also rewrote the employment contracts to reflect the actual schedule and pay system, which had previously existed only verbally.
Outcome
The loss of clients stopped, and the client base remained with the salon. Two staff members who left after the new rules were introduced were unable to make any claims regarding the client base — correspondence and records were kept in the owner's system.
Food service outlet

An inspection revealed violations the entrepreneur was unaware of

Situation
A small café received an order listing numerous violations: from missing personnel documents to an unregistered sign. The owner believed that complying with sanitary requirements was enough and had not considered the permitting side at all. There was a threat of suspension of operations at the height of the season.
What we did
We divided the violations into those that could be remedied immediately and those requiring procedures. The former were resolved within two days and documented with reports and photographs; for the latter we drew up a remediation schedule and agreed it. On two points we prepared written objections: the rules the inspector relied on did not apply to this type of activity.
Outcome
Suspension was avoided, and the fine was reduced to the minimum. The café continued to operate, and the entire document package is now maintained according to a checklist.
Online store

Returns and customer claims were left to the owner's discretion, with no rules in place

Situation
The owner of an online store handled returns at his own discretion: sometimes accommodating, sometimes refusing. Customers began filing complaints with the authorised body and leaving reviews, and one dispute escalated to a lawsuit claiming a penalty and compensation for moral harm.
What we did
We drafted a public offer and return rules tailored to the actual product range, classifying goods by whether they could be returned. We set out a procedure for handling enquiries with deadlines and the form of response, and trained a support employee. For the lawsuit filed, we prepared a position and settled the dispute by agreement.
Outcome
The lawsuit was closed with a payment four times lower than claimed. Over the following year no complaints were filed with the authorised body: disputed situations are resolved according to rules that are published and known to both parties.
Workshop

A client demanded compensation for equipment he had brought in faulty himself

Situation
An electronics repair workshop received a claim: the client stated that the device had been handed in working and was returned with new damage, and demanded the cost of a new device. The receipt issued on acceptance was filled in by hand, and the condition of the device was described in a single word: "won't turn on".
What we did
We reconstructed the circumstances from the technician's notes and the photos taken during disassembly — they were preserved in the work chat. We prepared a reasoned response to the claim describing the original defects. In parallel, we introduced an acceptance form with mandatory photo recording and a description of the condition before work began.
Outcome
The client dropped the claims after our response with the attached photos. Over the year, the new acceptance form prevented three more similar claims at the enquiry stage.
Retail space lease

The landlord changed the terms every six months, and the contract allowed it

Situation
The entrepreneur leased a pavilion under a contract where the rate could be revised "by agreement of the parties", but in practice — under threat of termination. Over two years the payment rose by 60%, while the investment in equipment could not be recouped.
What we did
We analysed the contract and prepared a negotiating position: we proposed a long term with fixed indexation in exchange for removing the possibility of unilateral revision. We showed the landlord the calculation: a stable tenant who has fitted out the premises is more profitable than searching for a new one every six months.
Outcome
A new three-year contract was signed with indexation not exceeding the agreed percentage. The entrepreneur recouped the investment and opened a second outlet in the same complex.

Legal services for business in Almaty: contracts, employees, inspections and disputes

The owner of a small LLP or sole proprietorship in Almaty usually handles legal matters alone: downloads a standard contract, signs the acceptance certificate, answers a counterparty's letter from memory. While the deals are simple and the partners are familiar, this works. The mistake surfaces later — when a claim arrives, a tax inspection begins, or an employee leaves and files a complaint.

Most often money is lost not on complex schemes but on small things: the contract has no clause on the acceptance procedure, a notice was sent to the wrong address, an order was backdated. Such slips are easy to fix while only the owner knows about them. Once the matter has reached a dispute or an inspection, it is too late to fix them. Below is a practical breakdown of what regular legal support covers.

Legal services for business in Almaty: when an owner needs an external lawyer

Small businesses in Kazakhstan operate as a sole proprietorship or an LLP, and an in-house lawyer in such companies is rare. While the volume of tasks is small, the owner signs contracts, keeps HR records and answers counterparties' letters himself. The need for ongoing legal support arises when mistakes start costing money.

A one-off consultation resolves a specific issue but does not remove the cause. A lawyer for business in support mode works ahead of the curve: reviews a contract before signing, prepares an HR document before an employee is hired, responds to a claim before it turns into a lawsuit. That is why legal support for business is chosen as an alternative to an in-house position — the tasks are the same, but there is no need to keep a lawyer in the office.

Legal services for business in this format cover both day-to-day and one-off tasks: drafting contract templates, HR record-keeping, responding to claims and preparing for inspections.

Most often the need for a lawyer arises in the following areas:

  • contracts with clients and suppliers, where every clause on liability matters
  • HR documents: employment contracts, orders, internal rules
  • claims and letters from counterparties that must be answered on time
  • notices and requests from inspecting authorities
  • disputes that began with a single badly drafted document

Business legal consultation: how regular support begins

The first business legal consultation is not a talk about theory but a review of what the entrepreneur already has in his folders. The owner brings current contracts with suppliers and clients, employment contracts, orders, and correspondence on a disputed delivery. The lawyer reads the documents and shows where the terms are drafted against the business's interests: no payment deadlines, no liability for delay, no employee signature confirming familiarisation with internal rules.

The review shows which risks need urgent attention and which can be dealt with later. For example, a claim from a counterparty with a looming response deadline comes first, while revising a supply contract template comes second. Priorities are set by the size of potential losses: first, anything that could result in a fine, recovery or account freeze, then routine documentation.

A one-off legal consultation often grows into ongoing support: the business gains an external lawyer who handles contractual and HR work, responds to claims and prepares documents for inspections. For a consultation to be productive, it is worth preparing the following:

  • Contracts with key counterparties and their annexes
  • Employment contracts and HR orders for the past year
  • Claims, notifications and letters from state bodies
  • Reconciliation statements and documents on disputed supplies

Legal services for small business and sole traders: what day-to-day work involves

Small businesses and sole traders need a lawyer not for major deals but for the routine that piles up every week: checking a supply contract before signing, responding to a buyer's claim, drafting a hiring or leave order, working out whether the terms of an already signed agreement can be changed. This is what legal services for small business in Almaty consist of — tasks that are small individually, but without them the business loses money and time.

One-off assignments and retainer support solve different problems. When there is a single, clear task — drafting a lease agreement or responding to a specific claim — it is enough to assign it and close the matter. Retainer support makes sense when documents and questions come in a stream: then the entrepreneur is not gathering papers after the fact but receives a ready contract, order or response before the deadline. Legal services for entrepreneurs in this mode are advantageous because the lawyer already knows the specifics of the business and does not ask the same questions again.

The mistake small businesses make is seeking help once a conflict has already flared up: the claim has been received, the response deadline has passed, the counterparty has filed a lawsuit. At the stage of signing a contract or hiring an employee, amendments take a few minutes, whereas in a dispute they take months of proceedings and lost clients. Here is what is usually covered in day-to-day work:

reviewing and drafting contracts, protocols of disagreements, supplementary agreements

responding to claims from counterparties, buyers and employees

HR orders, employment contracts, holiday schedules and notifications

advice on current transactions and correspondence with partners

reviewing incoming documents from state bodies, banks and counterparties

Legal support for business for LLPs and sole traders: how the tasks differ

The difference between a sole trader and an LLP is visible already at the level of internal documents. A sole trader has no participants or charter capital, so decisions do not need to be formalised — the entrepreneur acts in their own name. An LLP has a second layer: minutes and decisions of participants, documents on shares, appointment of the director. Without this, some transactions and bank operations may stall.

On HR matters a sole trader has it simpler: they often work alone or with a small team, but employees are hired under employment contracts just as in an LLP — they cannot be replaced with service agreements. An LLP, as a rule, has a larger staff, and here employment contracts, orders, schedules and acknowledgements of internal rules matter. These are precisely the papers inspectors look at first.

The third layer is working with counterparties. Here the tasks are the same for both forms: checking a partner before a transaction, preparing and amending contracts, correspondence on disputed terms. That is why legal services for legal entities and sole traders overlap, while the volume of b2b legal services depends on how many people you employ and who you work with. Below is a guide to the set of tasks.

Compare your situation with the table and tick the items that have already piled up.

  • Registration of changes to constituent documents
  • Minutes and decisions of LLP participants
  • Employment contracts and HR orders
  • Counterparty checks and contract amendments
Set of tasks for sole traders and LLPs
Scope of work Individual entrepreneur LLP
Internal documents Minimal, no decisions Decisions and minutes of participants
Personnel Employment contracts, staff usually smaller Staff, orders, rules
Contracts with counterparties For each transaction For each transaction, volume higher
Claims and disputes In own name In the company's name

The scope of support depends on the number of employees and transactions, not only on the legal form.

Legal services for business under contracts: where money is most often lost

The most common loss in a contract is the absence of a payment deadline. A wording such as "payment is made within a reasonable time" or "upon actual provision of services" turns debt recovery into a dispute about dates: the debtor says the deadline has not yet arrived, while the creditor cannot prove delay and claim a penalty. A specific date or a number of calendar days from an event is needed — signing of the act, receipt of the invoice.

Vague liability of the parties costs more than it seems. If the contract has no liability cap, no procedure for calculating the penalty and no list of grounds for writing it off, the counterparty disputes any amount, and the court reduces a disproportionate penalty. Before signing, also check the jurisdiction clause: specifying a particular court in Almaty or another location determines where you will have to litigate, and sometimes allows the disputing party to drag out the process.

The acceptance procedure is where the right to object is lost. Silence after receiving an act or goods often means consent: if no deadline for a reasoned refusal is set, it is difficult to prove claims about quality. A lawyer's services for business when reviewing a contract come down to several control points:

  • liability cap and grounds for a penalty;
  • payment deadlines and linkage to specific events;
  • acceptance procedure and deadline for reasoned refusal;
  • jurisdiction and procedure for sending claims;
  • termination and unilateral withdrawal terms.

Legal support for business on employees: the documents that are checked first

HR documents are the first thing requested during an inspection or after a complaint from an employee. If the employment contract is not drawn up or was signed backdated, a fine and a lost dispute with the employee are almost inevitable. A business law lawyer checks the whole package: from the job application to the holiday schedule.

An employment contract with an employee is concluded in writing. It sets out the position, salary, working hours, place, term and the ground for its fixed term. Employment and dismissal orders must match the contract in dates and wording, and the employee's acknowledgement must be confirmed by signature.

The internal regulations and the remuneration policy set the framework for disciplinary sanctions and bonuses. Without them, dismissal for misconduct is easy to challenge, and a claim for damages is easy to lose. It is also worth checking personal files and instruction logs.

  • Employment contracts and supplementary agreements
  • Orders on hiring, transfer, dismissal
  • Internal labour regulations
  • Personal cards and holiday schedules
  • Occupational health and safety instruction logs

Legal support for business during inspections: how to prepare in advance

Inspections by state bodies are registered with the Legal Cadastre body. This means the inspector must have a registered ground for the visit, and the entrepreneur is entitled to know exactly what is being inspected and on what basis. If you are not told the ground and subject of the inspection, calmly clarify this before opening the office and showing documents.

When an inspector visits, it is important not to fuss and not to hand over everything at once. Ask for the ID, clarify the body, the ground and the subject of the inspection, and record the inspector's details. Then follow the steps that reduce the risk of unnecessary questions and fines.

An external business lawyer works ahead here: they check in advance which documents you have on hand and prepare a procedure for employees to follow. Business legal services in this part are not about a nice folder, but about making sure that at the moment of the visit no one says too much or hands over a document the company does not have.

If an inspection arrives without warning, keep a simple procedure at hand:

  • Record the body, the inspector's full name and position, and the ID number
  • Clarify the ground and subject of the inspection, ask to see the order appointing it
  • Do not give explanations or documents that are not in the request
  • Keep your own record of the visit: the time, what happened, what was seized
  • Pass the information to the lawyer before signing any papers

Legal support for business on claims and disputes with counterparties

Having received a claim from a counterparty, do not respond emotionally or in the first hours. First the lawyer assesses whether the demands are justified: they check the terms of the contract, the correspondence, the acts and payments, and whether the delay is actually on your side and whether the limitation period has expired. If the demands are unjustified, the response is built on documents, not on general objections — otherwise your response will become evidence against you in court.

At the same time, evidence is gathered: the originals of the contract with annexes and supplementary agreements, invoices, payment documents, acts of completed work, delivery notes, correspondence by email and in messengers, and the incoming correspondence log. It is useful to record the date the claim was received and to send the response by registered letter or through the office — the court does not take verbal promises to 'sort it out' into account.

The dispute moves to court when negotiations and the claim procedure have not produced a result, or the counterparty is clearly stalling. Then the same documents are needed, plus a calculation of the debt and penalty, a power of attorney for the representative, a certificate of state registration and the constituent documents. If the defendant does not comply with the judgment voluntarily, enforcement goes through a private or state court enforcement officer.

Legal support for business: a one-off task or ongoing support

One-off help is appropriate when there is a single task that does not pull others behind it: drafting a specific contract, responding to a claim received, dealing with one disputed episode. The owner decides when to get in touch and pays for each instruction separately. While there are two or three such tasks a year, the format is convenient: no unnecessary costs or obligations.

Ongoing support pays off when documents and questions come in a steady stream: contracts with suppliers and clients, HR orders, notifications, replies to letters from state bodies, claims. The lawyer keeps the structure of a particular business in mind and sees the consequences of a step the owner is about to take. Explaining again each time what the company does and how its transactions are structured costs more in time and in mistakes.

In practice the turning point is simple: count how many times a month you open a contract template, amend an HR document or think over a letter from a counterparty. Legal servicing of a business moves into an ongoing format when there are more than two or three such requests a month. On a business lawyer's official website you can usually see which tasks are covered under ongoing support and which are taken on a one-off basis.

  • unfamiliar or non-standard matters are taken on a one-off basis
  • contracts, HR and correspondence with counterparties are handled on an ongoing basis
  • ongoing support is cheaper on a volume of similar tasks
  • one-off instructions are convenient as long as there are no more than two or three a year
What to choose for your volume of tasks
Situation One-off assistance Ongoing support
Contracts per month one or two a stream, various counterparties
Employees hiring without a document package orders, notifications, changes
Claims and letters a rare case regular correspondence
Inspections preparation from scratch documents in order in advance

Focus on the frequency of similar tasks, not on their complexity.

Legal servicing of a business at launch: documents and first steps

At the start, almost every entrepreneur in Almaty decides what to open — an individual entrepreneur or an LLP. Legal advice on starting a business is most often sought when you need to understand: how to be liable for debts, how to divide the business with a partner, whether the chosen form suits a particular type of activity. A mistake at this step is costly: an individual entrepreneur is liable with personal property, while an LLP requires a properly drafted charter, otherwise the first conflict between the founders will block operations.

Once the form is chosen, the constituent documents are prepared: a decision or minutes, the charter for an LLP, an order appointing the director, then registration with the justice authorities and tax registration. This is where future manageability is built in — the procedure for taking decisions, a participant's exit, distribution of profit. Legal advice for business at this stage is not about paperwork for paperwork's sake, but about not having to rewrite the charter later to fit an already operating enterprise.

The first contracts — lease of premises and works contracts — are usually concluded in a hurry, downloading templates from the internet. The most costly things: no specifics in the subject of the lease, no procedure for returning the deposit, no term on acceptance of works and liability for delay. It is worth checking at the start:

  • The subject and term of the lease, the amount and indexation of the rent, the terms for returning the deposit
  • The landlord's rights to enter the premises and the grounds for termination
  • In a works contract — the list of works, deadlines, acceptance procedure and warranties
  • The contractor's liability for delay and poor-quality works

The most costly mistake of a small business is to treat legal work as a one-off task: documents need to be put in order before an inspection and a dispute, not during them.

I have a coffee shop, signed the lease without reading it and then the rate went up by a third. They went through the contract, some of the increases were cancelled and the rate was fixed for two years. I regret not showing them the document straight away.

I was starting a clothing repair workshop, and the question came up: should I register as an individual entrepreneur or open an LLP straight away. I didn't understand any of it myself, acquaintances gave me different advice, I got completely confused. I came in and they explained it properly, in plain terms, with figures based on our revenue. We chose the individual entrepreneur route and didn't regret it.

An employee quit and filed a complaint, an inspection followed, and honestly I panicked and didn't know where to turn. Within a week they got everyone's paperwork in order, filed objections, and the fine came out minimal. Special thanks to Gulnara, she kept everything under control. Without them I don't know what would have happened

I have a small shop near my home, we sell groceries and various bits and pieces. Before, I downloaded a sale and purchase contract from somewhere on the internet. Clients signed this long sheet and nobody really read it. Then one customer started complaining about a return, and I realised that my piece of paper didn't really set out anything properly. A friend advised me to go to lawyers who work with small businesses. I came in, showed them my documents and told them how everything works in the shop. They wrote a contract for our shop, for our goods and timelines. Now clients sign that instead of the long sheet I downloaded back then. It's calmer when you know the paperwork is in order

We took the start package, five requests a month is more than enough. They reply quickly, usually the same day.

We have a small business, not many contracts, and I didn't understand whether we even needed a lawyer on a permanent basis. I came in to ask for advice, and they told me honestly that we didn't need ongoing support, since we have one contract a quarter. They just checked it and that was it, no pushing. I respect that approach

A client didn't pay 900 thousand and kept promising for six months. We wrote a pre-action letter, then filed a claim. We got the money, but it took a lot of time.

As an entrepreneur I used to prepare HR documents myself, but I made a mistake somewhere and was afraid I'd get fined. So I went to ask for advice. They helped me fully, contracts, orders, instructions, they sorted everything out. Before it was completely disorganised. Now my documents are in order and I have peace of mind.

The supplier delivered defective goods and refused to replace them, citing the terms of their contract, which we signed without reading. We had to bring in the documents, wait for a response, but Asel sorted everything out quickly. Part of it was returned, but not all

When a partner came on board, I realised that an individual entrepreneur no longer suited us and we needed to move to an LLP, but I was afraid of making mistakes. They did everything, and even wrote a corporate agreement so we wouldn't fall out later. Very happy with the result

When I opened a small studio, I was afraid that lawyers wouldn't take me seriously as a small business. But they agreed, and worked with us the same way they work with big companies. Gulnara explained everything to me and checked my documents. Now I feel confident.

I run a small flat renovation firm, and over the years paperwork just piled up. Contracts, acts, notices, correspondence with clients, all in one folder and on my phone. I'm not a lawyer and I was already getting confused about what mattered and what didn't. I realised I needed to go to a lawyer when I almost missed one serious document. I came in and brought the whole pile. They went through my entire stack of papers in one go and told me what was urgent and what could wait. The list was short, I thought it would be ten pages long. They explained everything calmly, without fancy words I don't understand. Now at least I know what to grab first. Thank you for not leaving me alone with that folder

The inspection came out of the blue, they called straight from there. They told me what to show and what not to, then helped with the objections.

Over a year of service the price never changed once, even though there were quite a few requests, and I was bracing for surprises. True, a couple of times I had to wait longer than usual for a reply, but that's minor. Overall satisfied

I wanted to terminate the lease early, didn't understand what the contract said the consequences would be. They explained calmly, without scare tactics. In the end we settled with the landlord amicably.

I decided to open a small cafe and had no idea what was needed for registration. Friends said it was quick, but I was afraid of missing something. I went to the lawyers for help, because I don't understand any of these papers myself. They helped me open the business turnkey, including the tax regime. Sanzhar was in touch the whole time and answered my questions. It took about ten days, I thought it would be longer. In that time I managed to find premises and agree with suppliers. When I got the documents, I actually breathed a sigh of relief. Now the cafe is running and I don't worry that something was filed wrong

They reply on WhatsApp, that's convenient. No need to go to the office for every question. Sometimes you do wait longer for a reply than you'd like, but overall fire

There was an unpleasant situation with a former employee, it went to court. I didn't know what to do, was looking for a lawyer who could help. We partially lost, had to pay compensation. But less than he was asking for

I have a small beauty studio, and paperwork has always been a headache for me. I used to do everything myself, but then I realised I couldn't keep up. Gulnara suggested taking on business support so I wouldn't have to think about the papers. Once a quarter they look at what's changed in the business and update the documents. I like that, I wouldn't have remembered myself. They call, remind me, send what needs signing. I come in, sign everything and get back to work in peace. I used to be afraid of inspections, but now I feel somehow more confident. Good that there are people keeping an eye on this instead of me

We've been their clients for three years now. Why did I come? At some point we had constant disputes with clients, I didn't know how to properly draft contracts. Yerlan helped sort everything out. In all this time, not a single dispute with clients, even though before there were constant ones.

FAQ

How much does legal support for business in Almaty cost?

The cost of packages and one-off tasks is shown in the prices block on this page: the amount depends on the size of the business and the number of requests and is fixed in the contract. The first review of documents is free.

My business is very small. Will you take it on?

Yes. A significant part of our clients are sole proprietors with no employees and micro-companies. For a small business it is usually enough to put the documents in order once, and we will say so directly instead of selling you a package.

How is support different from outsourcing?

Outsourcing replaces a company's in-house legal department and is designed for a constant flow of tasks. Legal support for business is a format for entrepreneurs and small companies: less volume, simpler packages, more short consultations.

Can I come to you for a one-off task, without a monthly package?

Of course. We take on one-off tasks just like ongoing ones: a contract, a consultation, HR documents, a claim. A package makes sense when there are more than two or three requests a month.

Sole proprietor or LLP — what should I choose?

It depends on turnover, whether you have partners and what you are prepared to answer for debts with. A sole proprietor answers with personal property, an LLP — with the contribution to the charter capital, but there are also more requirements for it. We will work it out on your figures at a free consultation.

How quickly do you respond to questions?

Standard questions — within two working days, urgent ones we deal with on the day of the request. We accept questions on WhatsApp: photos of documents are fine, there is no need to come in separately.

An inspection has come to me. What should I do right now?

Reply in writing and within the deadline, without adding anything verbally, and let us know immediately. Even if the report has already been drawn up, objections can be filed to it with supporting documents attached — at this stage a noticeable part of the claims is removed.

Employees are not fully documented. Can this be fixed?

Yes, and it is better to do this before a complaint or inspection. We bring the documents for current employees into lawful form and set up the procedure for documenting new hires so that the issue no longer arises.

The client is not paying. Where do I start?

With a written demand: it fixes the start of the delay and often resolves the matter on its own. At the same time we gather evidence — the contract, correspondence, acts, payments. The fresher the debt, the higher the chance of recovering the money.

Do you work only in Almaty?

The main practice is Almaty and the region, but services are provided remotely: documents come via messenger, meetings by video call. In-person attendance is rarely needed.

What happens if a task goes beyond the scope of the package?

We warn you about this before starting work and quote a separate fee. Court cases are not included in the monthly package — they are treated as a standalone matter, with the fee stated in the pricing section.
